Camino Day 78 (Cee to Fisterra) 20K- #CAMINO #HIKING

The Magician and I were both in high spirits as we set off from Cee. Every few steps taking a moment to enjoy the autumn sun on our skin. Marveling at the warms so late in the year, especially after the few days of rain Continue reading Camino Day 78 (Cee to Fisterra) 20K- #CAMINO #HIKING

Camino Day 75 (Alto do Mar Do Ovellas to Vilaserío) 26K- #CAMINO #HIKING

Our Camino family woke earl-ish in the morning, setting off from the albergue all together. Quickly we separated into two groups. My Brother, a beautiful Spanish woman and I walked together all morning.  With light- hearted conversations, we spent most Continue reading Camino Day 75 (Alto do Mar Do Ovellas to Vilaserío) 26K- #CAMINO #HIKING

Goodbye my lover

Camino Day 70 (Sarria to Gonzar) 29K- #CAMINO #HIKING

We were 4 days from Santiago! The end point for the Camino (although the Magician and I were planning on continuing walking together after this point onto Finisterra and Muxia). Sarria is known as the starting point for Tourino’s (Tourist Pelegrino’s). Starting here allows people to spend Continue reading Camino Day 70 (Sarria to Gonzar) 29K- #CAMINO #HIKING

Camino Day 69 (Triacastela to Sarria) 27K- #CAMINO #HIKING

We left Triacastela late in the morning after wondering around trying to find the pharmacy to get some medication to treat our usual 101 ailments you get from walking >25k every day for weeks on end. I couldn’t help but feel very excited today! The Magician, my Brother and I would be going to visit a community that was set up by a writer. In the community they ran Continue reading Camino Day 69 (Triacastela to Sarria) 27K- #CAMINO #HIKING

What should I do?- #Poem #Poetry

Go back as a corporate negotiator

Bang a table over self importance

Demanding blood for the last penny

Should I change completely?

Live outside till my back gives out

Hands gnarled from the love of green growth

Should I give walking tours

Sharing my love of nature

Or history of cities

Camino Day 65 (Foncebadon Monte Irago to Ponferrerada) 27K- #CAMINO #HIKING

The Magician and I woke up early to do yoga together in the morning, But this has to have been the weirdest yoga I’ve ever done. It basically started with 20 minutes of dancing in a giant circle and we were meant to become ‘lost Continue reading Camino Day 65 (Foncebadon Monte Irago to Ponferrerada) 27K- #CAMINO #HIKING

Congruent- #Poem #Poetry

Emotions bubble round me

Space between my stimulus

And impending reaction

Giving a gaping hole of peace

Allowing logical of mind

Peace of thought

Decision to be as I am

Not to return to the life of chaos

Camino Day 63 (Villar de Mozarife to Astorga) 31K- #CAMINO #HIKING

Today was a day for sadness and excitement. I was excited because the Magician and I were only two days from Cruz de Ferro (a large cross). At the cross you could leave a stone you carried all the way from home here (to represent the burden you would leave on the pilgrimage). The one I had with me I’d actually picked up a few months before in Costa Rica. It had the strips of a tiger on it, representing to me, that if I wanted something badly enough, even I could Continue reading Camino Day 63 (Villar de Mozarife to Astorga) 31K- #CAMINO #HIKING

Camino Day 62 (León to Villar de Mazarife) 23K- #CAMINO #HIKING

With our little group of four we left the hotel late in the morning, enjoying a long and leisurely breakfast in León. The city was buzzing in the Continue reading Camino Day 62 (León to Villar de Mazarife) 23K- #CAMINO #HIKING

Camino Day 61 (Reliegos to León) 29K- #CAMINO #HIKING

Today we’d be walking to León! It was the last major city before Santiago, and I was starting to feel the end of the walk. In 20 days time I’d be home for my Mum’s birthday. This made me sad to finish, but I also felt guilty as I knew my mum was in hospital (from a broken leg, which was complicated as she is paraplegic). This left me with a strange conflict inside. Sadness, guilt, Continue reading Camino Day 61 (Reliegos to León) 29K- #CAMINO #HIKING

Breaking the Cycle- #Poem #Poetry

You gave a request

I read as an ultimatum

You stated you finally want to stop this circle

Finally opening up

And I start to see

That even when I said the contrary

I’d been closed to you

Love for you grows with me

Tears of sorrow for the guilt

Camino Day 60 (Sahagun to Reliegos) 33K- #CAMINO #HIKING

Our little group of the Texan, my Little Sister and the Magician left our municipal late. We bounced through Sahagun, finding the half way sign! The Magician and I had walked ¾ of the route from Le Puy to Santiago. Most of that, we had been Continue reading Camino Day 60 (Sahagun to Reliegos) 33K- #CAMINO #HIKING

Camino Day 59 (Ledigos to Sahagun) 23K- #CAMINO #HIKING

We left Ledigos late in the day, walking on to the Terradillos de los Templarios, which used to belong to the Templar Knights. They were set up to protect pilgrims to Palestine, which then expanded to protected all pilgrims (including those to Santiago). The Templar Knights were dissolved when the church abolished their order on 13th October 1307. This was set into motion Continue reading Camino Day 59 (Ledigos to Sahagun) 23K- #CAMINO #HIKING
