Patience from reception staff

Screams from the entitled

Demands after days hiking

Smells unknown clinging relentless

Groups yelling in jubilation

Nervous glances; Broken connections

With strangers; Desperate for companionship

Unknown friend or foe

Basic foods stuffed down the gullets

From the ravenous Hiker Hunger

Gratefully received hot showers

To unwind the tired muscles

A haven from nature’s power

Gathering of the outdoorsie

Thanking you for your shelter

Deep in the thunder filled night

I can come in many labels, many boxes, a divorcee, survivor, traveler, writer, optimist. But these labels only limit me to who I am at this point in time. But as you will read on my blog, I am my journey. I hope you will enjoy walking this path with me.
