Ghost of Fear- #Poem #Broken heart

It’s a subtle change

You seem just a touch happier today

The day I’m to leave you

Fear spreads

It’s familiar cold fingers through my gut

Justice and reason persist in my internal narrative

Memories of love are tainted

Now a shade darker

Comparison and questions put me on the rack of self-punishment

A black world fills my vision

I turn my head away fruitlessly

Because I am enclosed

I no longer have this fear

I am the embodiment of it

I can come in many labels, many boxes, a divorcee, survivor, traveler, writer, optimist. But these labels only limit me to who I am at this point in time. But as you will read on my blog, I am my journey. I hope you will enjoy walking this path with me.
