Misplaced Grief- #Poem #Poetry

I shouldn’t feel sad for you

Others in my place would rejoice

That you’re trapped a year on

Still in darkness of our divorce

But I just feel pity

As I moved on

But you’re just a shadow

No knowledge of who you really are

Letting someone tell you who you can be, who you can talk too

As you’re never allowed to be your own man

You’re stuck in the box of your making

And I know I shouldn’t feel sad for you

But I wish you beauty and happiness

I used to want karma to come for you

And I knew that she would

Seeing the damage with my eyes now though

I see in liberating yourself because of ridiculous fears

You actually only sentenced yourself to darkness

But in doing so set me free

To roam in the sunshine

I can come in many labels, many boxes, a divorcee, survivor, traveler, writer, optimist. But these labels only limit me to who I am at this point in time. But as you will read on my blog, I am my journey. I hope you will enjoy walking this path with me.
